DIARY OF G'ÉZA CSÁTH・Géza Csáth, the Hungarian writer, critic, music theoretician and medical doctor was born in Szabadka (now Subotica in Serbia) in 1887. Died in 1919 aged 32.
BALASSI ANNIVERSARY・Bálint Balassi (1554-1594) is the first major Hungarian poet. His poetry signals the maturity of the Hungarian language as a full-fledged medium of literary expression at par with the other languages of the 16th century Europe.
